I got a stupid chain email last night.
It had been sent to absolutely loads of people, and as I scrolled down I saw some comments other people had made.
"whoever started this is sick"
"Sorry for sending this to you, but I didnt want anything bad to happen to me or my family"
"Dont be mad at me sending this to you, I'd stop now though and not bother scrolling down to the bottom."
The messages that people had written freaked me out a bit actually, and of course I was so curious that I had to scroll all the way down.
It said something like:
'If you do not send this to 20 people in half an hour I will put a curse on you, your computer and your family, if you do not believe me look at the photos I have done it before.'
There were three photos, one was a close up of a ghoslty girl typw thing, it was pretty spooky, but such good quality that it obviously wasnt a real ghost.
The second was really freaky, but obviously taken from one of the hundreds of websites dedicated to pictures of 'ghosts'. It showed a boy in bed and a wierd shape above him that looked something like an evil spirit.
The last was one which I recognised. It was of a girl with a messed up face. I remember they (for some unknown reason) had it sellotaped to the swear box at work, and it probably came from rotten.com.
The first thing that sprang into my mind was if there is really some sort of evil ghost type thing hunting people down over the internet why would it take pictures?
Did the people who passed the email on in terror seriously believe some sort of evil ghost thing thought one day "oh, I know what will be good, I'll hunt people over the internet and then take pictures of them" ?
An email which says something like "if you do not send this on blah, blah a virus will destroy your computer" maybe, but ghosts messing up people's faces? I don't think so.
The most ridiculous part has to be the threat on the curse on the computer. I mean, come on....
